COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS):

LEARN WHAT BUEHLER HOME IS DOING TO STAY SAFE

As you may have heard in the news, President Trump has declared a national emergency as a result of the COVID-19.  This development triggers heightened infection control practices and protocols as recommended by the Center for Disease Control (CDC).  Please know that maintaining the health, wellness, and safety of our residents and staff is our number one priority.

Buehler Home is restricting visitation on our campus as required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).  Based on federal guidance, no visitor will be permitted into our health care facility except for certain compassionate care cases such as end-of-life situations.

We are also not allowing visitors for independent living residents effective immediately.  We strongly discourage residents from leaving the community at this time, in accordance with CDC recommendations that seniors remain in their homes.

All of our employees are screened and temperature taken prior to the beginning of their shift.  We encourage all residents and staff to practice a good hygiene and to wash hands thoroughly and often, use hand sanitizer, and refrain from touching your face.

We are asking all residents to practice social distancing as much as possible.  Group social events and activities will be suspended until further notice.  Activities will continue in small groups to reduce exposure and provide adequate space for the recommended social distancing.

In response to the recent health authority’s guidance to practice social distancing, the Dining Room, the Bistro, and the Roof Top Grill will be closed for group dining.  All meals will be made available on a carry out basis. Meal delivery will be available upon request.

The emotional hardships these restrictions can create are real and distressing.  They are necessary to help reduce the likelihood of a viral spread.  We are available to help you stay connected with your loved ones with phone calls, email, and FaceTime.  We understand the importance of engaging mentally, physically, and spiritually on a daily basis, and we will continue to find creative ways to promote a healthy environment and combat isolation.

We thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we take the necessary precautions to protect our residents.  We will update you further as things continue to change in the next few days or weeks. If you have any questions, please call us in the Business Office.
